Senior Recital Spotlight: Dylan Yoder
Highlighting Dylan Yoder's plans for his upcoming Senior Voice Recital
Bethel College offers a wide range of classes and majors for students to choose from. One area of study that is particularly strong is music. Oftentimes, students who choose to pursue music here at Bethel College also obtain an education degree of some form. This is one path forward towards a career in music education.
Currently, one of the students in the program is senior Dylan Yoder, from Hutchinson. Dylan’s major is Music with an Education Licensure. He plans to teach music after college.

According to Yoder, the music department is filled with tremendous professors who “do a great job and are heavily focused on improving the quality and focus of music students.” Professors like these push students to do their best and give them the skills to succeed in their future careers.
Seniors in the music program have the opportunity to present a recital, where they showcase some of their musical abilities. These recitals can happen in a variety of fashions. Some students decide to invite other students or professors to play with them, while other students in the past have chosen to direct small ensembles.
The flexibility of these recitals is part of what makes audiences enjoy them. With each recital comes a little glimpse into the ways students express themselves through their music.
This week marks the start of senior recitals. Yoder states that “students and community members attending my recital can expect to hear a wide range of music dating all the way from the 1500s to 1986, with the music of the Phantom of the Opera.”
This event will take place Thursday, April 10, at 7 pm in the Chapel, located on the 2nd floor of the Administration Building.
