Halloween comes to Bethel: Monster Mash event back after COVID-19 hiatus
The long-awaited event includes community families visiting residence halls to trick-or-treat, themed door-decorating contests for students, and games.
“Trick or treaters will be coming on Sunday the 30th to campus from 1-2 p.m. and will be invited to participate in the Monster Mash event hosted by Residence Life, SAC, Bethel BBQ Club, and others,” Student Activities Council (SAC) coordinator Samantha Bond announced in an email to Bethel College students. “We will have activities and snacks in the residence halls, and inflatable games and BBQ behind the WAC.”
With Halloween around the corner, the Bethel Community Assistants (CAs) are gearing up to help celebrate the festive spirit. Each hall has decided on a theme and will have decorations to make the lobbies feel spectacularly spooky. This will be partnered with the Student Activity Council’s trick-or-treating event on Oct. 30.
Parents are invited to bring their costumed kids to campus for an evening of fun. Meanwhile, the residence halls will be decorated and have exciting games and various snacks.
“Voth is planning to do a vampire theme, Haury is zombies, and the mods are ghosts,” CA Aubrey Grame from Kalispell, Mont. said. “Each residence hall will decorate its lobby and make it family-friendly. There’ll be some sort of food in each dorm and an activity to go with it.”
These festivities come off of several years of quarantines and lockdowns due to COVID-19 and hope to bring the community and Bethel together in good-natured spooky spirits. There are various other Halloween-themed activities happening on and around campus on Halloween weekend, so be sure to participate in some seasonal fun and games.
