Free ice cream and concert to celebrate Labor Day
This local community event is a slam dunk for anybody looking to save a few bucks.
To celebrate Labor Day, Moundridge kicks off the three day weekend with a free celebration open to the public on Saturday, Sep. 3.
The event is hosted by the Moundridge Arts Council, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to “provide public art for citizens to enjoy through performing arts, visual arts, and literature,” according to their website.
The celebration will feature a live performance by the group Moddelmog and Hardin with a Side of Mayo, a local folk music trio based out of South Central Kansas.
On top of that, Salted Creamery, an ice cream store and parlor based out of Newton will be providing ice cream at the event. Bethel students and staff are likely to remember this treat; the local brand has been on campus often and regularly partners with other area restaurants and community events. Salted Creamery is based in the Prairie Market & Deli at 601 N Main Street in Newton, and is a local favorite for good ice cream and community wholesomeness.
The concert itself will be from 7-9 p.m. at the Cloud Nine Venue, 205 Avenue A in Moundridge, a brisk 14 minute drive from Bethel College.
