Fall fun: the Kansas State Fair
If you're looking for weekend plans, look no further than this annual attraction!
One of the most popular local attractions has returned! The annual Kansas State Fair has begun. For those who have been to the fair before, familiar booths, rides, and displays are available.
For those who are new, you can expect popular attractions such as the butter sculpture, livestock shows, the “Ye Ole Mill” haunted boat ride, various carnival style rides, games, and food, art displays, chainsaw carving, and so much more.
There are also various daily shows and activities, which include marching band shows, draft horse barrel races, evening concerts and comedy shows at the Grandstand, and more, which can all be found on the Kansas State Fair website.
You can try many of the various popular food locations, such as Outlaw Fries, the Cottonwood Court, or the popular Root Beer stands. Food vendors offer many types of food, from standard fairground foods such as nachos, cheese curds, lemonades and limeades, and hot dogs, to more varied and unique foods, such as stuffed cucumbers, fried Oreos, and gyros.
There are also several standout businesses to check out near the fair, such as the very popular local burgers and shakes restaurant, Bogey’s, located just outside the fairgrounds.
The fair runs through the 18th. The fair is located in the heart of Hutchinson, about a 45 minute drive from Bethel College, at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. Don’t miss one of Kansas’s most popular fairs, and one of the longest traditions for fall fun in the area!
