Chase Dempsey named 2023 Thresher of the Year
The inaugural recipient of the award was announced on Friday morning.
On Friday morning, The Collegian announced that Chase Dempsey, multimedia coordinator for institutional communications and marketing for Bethel College, has been named the 2023 Thresher of the Year.
Dempsey has been employed at the school since May 2021 and is the inaugural recipient of the award, which recognizes excellence over the course of the current academic year (fall 2022 through spring 2023).
The Collegian staff accepted nominations from Bethel faculty, staff, and students from Jan. 24 through March 14 and considered 33 unique names from these submissions as part of the selection process.
To celebrate Dempsey’s dedication to improving Bethel and non-Bethel communities and exemplification of institutional qualities, two stories written by features writers Katie Rose Friesen Birky and Dilan Fatma Bagci are linked below.
Additionally, Dempsey graces the front page of issue 12, where readers can find full Thresher of the Year content. These can be picked up at one of the following locations starting Friday afternoon: the Caf, Thresher Shop, Reverie at Mojo’s, Mantz Library, the Ad Building, the Will Academic Center, the Fine Arts Center, or Newton Public Library.
