Allen Jantz named Thresher of the Year
The third-ever recipient of the award was announced Monday.
Dr. Allen Jantz, professor of education and the director of teacher education at Bethel College, has been named the 2025 Thresher of the Year.
Jantz, a Bethel alumnus, graduated from the college in 1984. After pursuing graduate degrees, Jantz worked as an educator and administrator, before eventually returning to Bethel to work in the Department of Education.
From April 7 to 11, the Collegian staff accepted nominations for Thresher of the Year, receiving nominations for 29 different members of the Bethel community. The staff of the Collegian then narrowed down the list to three finalists, who were discussed in detail. Finally, Jantz was selected as Thresher of the Year for his unique impact on Bethel and its students.
To honor Jantz’s impact on Bethel and the broader community, two feature stories written by Collegian writers Daniela Casique and Grace Dawes are linked here:
A passion for students and service: Jantz named Thresher of the Year
Teaching from the heart, rooted in relationships: Allen Jantz’s lifelong impact on Bethel College
Additionally, Jantz will be featured on the cover of issue 12 of The Collegian, where both feature stories can be found.
